Jiri to Everest Classical Trek

With eight of the Worlds ten highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountains vistas. The Everest trekking is justifiably famous not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain but also for its friendly Sherpa people. Picturesque villages, a great variety of cultures and traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries. The Sagarmatha National Park is rich with flora and fauna, but the existence of the Yeti remains a mystery.

After a seven hours scenic drive to Jiri, we follow the spectacular route via Solukhumbu area through the heart of fine Sherpa villages, each village having something new to offer. It offers an ample chance to explore the beautiful forest, farming countrysides and several monasteries situated at high elevation on the way to Lukla. Once one has passed Lukla, we climb on to Namche, the main trading village of the Khumbu area continuing via Thyangboche monastery to Pheriche and Lobuche. The trek has got several numbers of attractions, chief of which are the spectacular scenery, the unique culture of the Sherpa people of the Solukhumbu, the region where Mt. Everest and it’s attendant lesser peaks are located.

  • Day 4 : Jiri - Deorali
  • Day 5 : :Deorali - Sete
  • Day 6 : Sete Junbesi
  • Day 7 : Junbesi - Nuntala
  • Day 8 : Nuntala - Kharikhola:
  • Day 9 : zhola - Puiyan
  • Day 10 : Puiyan - Phakding
  • Day 11 : Acclimatization day in Namche
  • Day 12 : Namche to Tengboche (3,867m)

  • Day 1 Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

  • Day 2 Sight-seeing of Kathmandu

    Full day’s sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Return to the hotel.

  • Day 3 Kathmandu - Jiri

    Drive to Jiri, 187 km form Kathmandu

  • Day 4 Jiri - Deorali

    The trek begins witha steady climb through cultivated fields and tiny Tamang villages. Climbing diagonally , we cross forested areas and open pasture land before again descending to Shivalaya. From here it's steady climb to the top of the Deorali pass( 3000m) where we spend the night.

  • Day 5 :Deorali - Sete

    From Deorali, it's a short walk to the Sherpal village fo Bhandar which is littered wity prayer walls and small gompas ( buddhist temples) Descending to the valley floor at the river side town of Kenja, the trail climbs steeply up a ridge ruchly forested with oak and rhododendron to Sete ( 2575m) whose beautiful hilltop monastery is a worth a visit.

  • Day 6 Sete Junbesi

    We climb through fragnant pine and oak forest to the Lamjura pass ( 3500m) for our first glimpse of Everest, then it's downhill again to the large Sherpa village of Junvbesi. From here there are goodo views Gaurishankar, Number Himal and Dudh Kunda.

  • Day 7 Junbesi - Nuntala

    From here we walk up the solung ridge, from where Everest is again visible and then descend to Ringo Khola, ringed with apple orchards. The trail crosses the Traksindola (3071m) before descending once again through the forest to Nuntala.

  • Day 8 Nuntala - Kharikhola:

    From nuntala the descend continues to Dudh Koshi ( Milk river) the largest river on the trek. Then ascend through severeal Sherpa and Rai villages. Terraced fields and forest to the spread out village of Khari-Khola

  • Day 9 zhola - Puiyan

    The path ascends through Sherpa villages and a forest inhabited by monkeys, and then winds steeply up adn down through the Dudh Koshi canyan to Puiyan.

  • Day 10 Puiyan - Phakding

    The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to a ridge at 2800m. then up to another ridge. Passing the path to Lukla airport, after which we climb on to Phakding.

    Phakding to Namche (3,440m)- Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes a waterfall. All day, we pass villages interspersed with magnificent forest- rhododendron, magniolia trees and giant firs. And on the way to walking you will be rewarded (weather permitting) your first glimpse of Kusum Kanggru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m) Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3440m).

  • Day 11 Acclimatization day in Namche

    Acclimatization is most important before proceeding to a higher elevation. It is therefore recommended that you take a short days hike to Thame, Khunde or Khumjung or relax and explore the sherpa culture of Namche.

  • Day 12 Namche to Tengboche (3,867m)

    after walking one hour you arrive in phungithanga from there the trail climbs through forests where you can spot musk deer. Tengboche sits on a saddle at 3870m in a clearing surrounded by dwarf fires and rododendroms. Kwongde (6187m) Tawache(6542m) Everest (8848m) Nuptse (7855m) Lhotse (8618m) Amadablam (6856m) Thamserku (6608m) provide and inspiring panorama of Himalayan giants. We visit the Bhuddist Monastry at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region.

  • Day 13 Tengboche to Pheriche

    Beyond Tengboche the altitude really starts to tell. The trail droops down to Dingboche, crosses the Imja Khola and climbs past superb mani stones ( carved with the Tibetan Buddhist chant om mani padme hum) to Pangboche at 3860m The gompa here is worth visiting. Then the trail start climbs to Pheriche 4240m. Where there is a medical facility, which gives lectures everyday on Altitude Sickness.

  • Day 14 Another acclimatization day

    again walking up and then coming back down is better than just resting in high altitude, you can make a day trip to Nangkartshang Gompa or up the hil to lok down onto Dingboche, Either walk offers good views.

  • Day 15 Pheriche to Lobuche

    The trail climbs to Phalang karpo at 4340m then Duglha at 4620m,From Dughla the trail ascends the broad, gently slopping valley and climb steeply in to the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier then left in to the memorial area Chukpilhara, before reaching the Lobuche at 4930m

  • Day 16 Lobuche to Gorakshep

    The trail from Lobuche follows the grassy ablation valley with great views of Pumori then crosses tributary glaciers to reach the dry lake bed of Gokrakchep. Stop for lunch then climb Kalapattar to get the best views of Everest and the surrounding mountains, then and back to Gorakshep for the evening.

  • Day 17 Gorekshep to Everest Base Camp back to Lobuche

    Early morning we walk to Everest Base Camp , visit base camp area and work down to Lobuche.

  • Day 18 Lobuche to Dingboche

    Staying the night at Dingboche, makes an interesting accommodation alternative.

  • Day 19 Tengboche

  • Day 20 Namche

  • Day 21 Lukla, Hotel

  • Day 22 Flight from Lukla - KTM, transfer to hotel

  • Day 23 Kathmandu free day, evening culture show with nepali dinner, hotel

  • Day 24 Final departure, transfer to airport
