Jomsom Muktinath with Annapurna Base camp Trek

Jomsom Muktinath with Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Nepal’s most popular trek begins at the lakeside town of Pokhara and leads six or seven days northwest around the Annapurna Massif, through dramatic changes in landscape, climate and culture to the high village of Jomosom, near the isolated land of Mustang. Trekkers often continue on to the sacred shrine of Muktianath, and takes one through some of Nepal ’s most lovely rhododendron forests to the Annapurna base camp. The Annapurna Himal is a vast massif of several peaks above 7,000 m, part of the range forms a natural amphi-theater known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Ringed by such giants as Annapurna I, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, Fang and the fishtail peak of Machapuchere . We trek through rhododendron and bamboo forests, as we climb towards the famous Fishtail Mountain Base Camp. From the Sanctuary we use the same route till Chomrong downstream the Midi Khola before making a worthy detour to Gandrung, a beautiful and large Gurung village.

The Jomsom trek is probably the single most popular trek in Nepal . The diverse landscapes and cultures to be found along the trek route give a marvelous insight into the way of life of rural Nepalese people. The route to Jomsom up the Kali Gandaki River passes through a gap in the Himalayan barrier in the bottom of the deepest river canyon in the world.

Kaligandaki Valley (Jomsom – Muktinath) area is situated in north of Pokhara. Gorepani, where we spend one night before descending Tatopani offers some of the most dramatic close-up views of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the world. In addition, this region is known for some of the most abrupt altitude variations experienced anywhere. A magnificent sunrise at Poon Hill, before descending Tatopani (hot spring) and then we encounter the world’s deepest gorge, where the powerful Kali Gandaki River has cut deep through the Himalaya between the massive peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna , view of wonderful Dhaulagiri Icefall.
