Tilicho Lake Trek

Tilicho Lake 4919m is World highest lake, situated In the Annapurna range of the Central Nepal Himalaya. This is a splendid summer trek, as rewarding as it is challenging. The Tilicho lake trek is among the finest serious Nepal treks best experienced in the Monsoon.

Tilicho Lake is a famous lake from natural beauty as well as a religious point of view. For the lovers of nature it a magnificent view and real opportunity to see a lake at this altitude at 4919m. For religious minded people, it is a Godly blessed place best suited for devotees, it is also an area of rough and wild beauty. This trek is visited by very few people though it is recommended for trekking and travel for all type of tourists.

On the way we would have passed through every type of vegetation zone from lush sub-tropical to harsh semi-desert and passed over one of the highest trekking passes in the world. We will have entered a world without roads or cars and witnessed the way people have worked, played and survived for hundreds and hundreds of years. We would have essentially walked through a time warp coming out the other side with a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Meet at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel
  • Day 2 : Sight-seeing of Kathmandu
  • Day 3 : Trek 1 Drive Ktm - Besi Sahar
  • Day 4 : Trek 2 - Bahundanda
  • Day 5 : Trek 3 - Bahundanda to Chamje
  • Day 6 : Trek 4 - Chamje to Bagarchhap
  • Day 7 : Trek 5 - Bagarchhap – Chame
  • Day 8 : Trek 6 - Chame to Pisang
  • Day 9 : Trek 7 - Pisang to Manang
  • Day 10 : Trek 8 - Acclimatization at Manang
  • Day 11 : Trek 9 - Manang to Khangsar
  • Day 12 : Trek 10 - Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp,
  • Day 13 : Trek 11
  • Day 14 : Trek 12
  • Day 15 : Trek 13
  • Day 16 : Trek 14
  • Day 17 : Pokhara – Kathmandu
  • Day 18 : Final departure, transfer to airport.
  • Day 1 Meet at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel

  • Day 2 Sight-seeing of Kathmandu

    Leave for full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Back to hotel and stay.

  • Day 3 Trek 1 Drive Ktm - Besi Sahar

    Drive to Besisahar about 6 hours stay at an altitiude of 820m

  • Day 4 Trek 2 - Bahundanda

    WE walk through the deep river gorge, rice fields, subtropical forest and small hamlets, past a majestic waterfall with towering peaks of Himalchuli and Manaslu.stay at 1320m.

  • Day 5 Trek 3 - Bahundanda to Chamje

    A steep and slippery trail runs up and down through paddy fields, passing through tiny Tibetan villages, the trail ascends through the rhododendron forest to Chamje at 1440m.

  • Day 6 Trek 4 - Chamje to Bagarchhap

    The path climbs the river through bamboo groves, we cross barely and potato fields to reach Dharapani and work an hour to Bagarchhap (160m) site of our first Tibetan Monastery and with the views of Annapurna 2 and Lamjung Himal.

  • Day 7 Trek 5 - Bagarchhap – Chame

    The trail climbs along the mule track through in and fir forest and then follows the river for a time among the higher oak and maple trees. Stay at 2710m.

  • Day 8 Trek 6 - Chame to Pisang

    The trail follows through the river valley stay at pisang(3210m) with good views along the way of Pisang peak and Annapurna 2.

  • Day 9 Trek 7 - Pisang to Manang

    Work through the fields of grazing Yak and a wide variety of crops. This large Tibetan settlement provides good views of Annapurna2, 3, 4, Gangapurna and Tarkekang. Stay at 3570m.

  • Day 10 Trek 8 - Acclimatization at Manang

    This is a rest day to acclimatize to the higher altitude. Time to visit monasteries take advice from Himalayan Rescue Association and observe the spectacular views of the Himalaya.

  • Day 11 Trek 9 - Manang to Khangsar

    overnight at guesthouse.

  • Day 12 Trek 10 - Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp,

    Overnight in lodge.

  • Day 13 Trek 11

    Early morning trek up to Tilicho Lake and back to Tilicho Base Camp overnight in lodge.

  • Day 14 Trek 12

    Tilicho Base Camp to Manang and overnight in Lodge.

  • Day 15 Trek 13

    Manang to Hungde airport overnight in lodge. (From here trek can continues to Throng pass- Muktinath also)

  • Day 16 Trek 14

    Fly from Hungde to Pokhara and free time. Over night at Hotel.

  • Day 17 Pokhara – Kathmandu

    evening culture show and Nepali dinner, hotel.

  • Day 18 Final departure, transfer to airport.
